Hello everyone!
Creator of the site and my mom’s (Suzy’s) favorite child here! :)
My mom wanted me to make a post introducing myself, so here I am! I am the youngest of my mom’s bio kids at 25 years old. I am in my final year of obtaining my Doctorate of Veterinary Science at Washington State University! I am my mom’s technology support from afar, so if there is something she does not know how to do, I am the person to go to!
I have helped my mom with her business since I was very young, when she was selling her kits out of our garage! Because of how long I have been working for her, I am basically the manager of the business. While I am home, I often help with cutting the product and putting together kits. Not to toot my own horn, but I am the fastest employee she has ever had (including my siblings lol)!
A little about me: I am a huge nerd! My room is filled with collectibles from all the different things I love. I have many different TV shows/animes, games, books, and more that I love to collect. Even though I am a maximalist, I am known to be the cleanest in the house and very organized. Whenever I come home, I am always assigned a task to organize lol!
As you can tell by the degree I am obtaining, I adore animals. I brought my own childhood dog, Biscuit, to live with me during college until he passed away last year at 16 years old. A couple of months later, on my school’s Facebook page, someone advertised a pup they were fostering from a hoarding situation nearby. Apparently, a hundred dogs were being kept in a home in terrible conditions. That is where I found Mere, my newest baby. Her name was Meredith, like from the TV show Grey’s Anatomy. She was believed to be around 2 years old, and because none of the dogs were neutered, she had signs that she had given birth before.
At the time, I had resolved myself to not get any dogs until after I graduate because I was in my third year, about to enter my busy clinical year; however, when I saw those big puppy dog eyes just desiring to be loved, I couldn’t help myself and I got her. She did not know what a leash, treats, toys, or being picked up meant. Everything was new to her, and it broke my heart how she had never had any of the love that she gave so freely reciprocated.
She is my everything. Other than the reactivity due to her unfortunate upbringing, she is the most perfect dog. She has colored my life again after it went grey due to Biscuit’s passing. I had missed the feeling of being scooted to the very edge of the bed due to her curling up to me. I had missed being welcomed home. I had missed the pure love that a pet could give.
She motivates me to keep going with my studies, even when I am exhausted. I couldn’t imagine her not in my life. She, and her two departed brothers (Biscuit and Gravy), have been huge motivators for me to continue up a steep cliff.
I can’t not talk about motivators and not talk about my mom. She has always pushed me to do what I love. She is one of the reasons why I work as hard as I do, and why I have the luxury to work as hard as I do. She works day and night for her business, and I could not thank her enough for it. Even through my dad’s passing, her own cancer treatments, moving to another state to be with my wonderful stepdad, Daryl, she has worked hard throughout all of it.
Thank you mom for being there for me. We rarely go a day without calling each other. Soon, I will be working in the same city that she lives in, and she will get her clingy kid right next to her again :) Love you mommy!
